Leadership in Disaster Education for Elementary School Teacher Candidates

Abstract


Leadership skills in disaster education are needed for prospective elementary school teachers. Because disaster education requires proper management so that all elements of education can organize after a disaster. Leadership in disaster education must also be used. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a survey research design, the research subject is elementary school prospective teacher students at UPI Cibiru Campus. The results showed that prospective teacher students as leaders can prepare themselves with capabilities, experience, personal and professional qualities in disaster preparedness communities. Leadership skills will be an added value for prospective teachers in preparing for disaster and post-disaster events. The success of student teachers in implementing as leaders in disaster education is an effective program at the basic education level.
